Overview
Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal - Burnley at Oakmount Veterinary Centre (part of IVC Evidensia UK). Salary up to £65,000 DOE. Base pay range information provided by the employer; actual pay will depend on skills and experience.
We are a first opinion, small animal practice with a referral Exotics department, offering opportunities to develop exotics knowledge if desired. Burnley is a welcoming area with good transport links to major cities and access to country walks nearby.
Responsibilities
* Join a single-site practice with day-to-day duties including consultations and surgery days.
* Opportunity to work up own cases; some sole charge, but this is minimal.
* No out-of-hours (OOH) commitments; inpatient care is nurse-led, with vets on a 1:6/7 inpatient rota for questions as needed.
* Work patterns can be fixed or flexible to balance outside commitments; shifts between 8:00 and 19:30, with a 1:4 weekends rota and time off in lieu during the week.
About the Practice and Team
Oakmount Veterinary Centre has 5 consulting rooms and 3 theatres (orthopaedics, soft tissue and exotics), digital x-ray (vertical and horizontal beam), dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood machines, and standard equipment for routine procedures. The team includes 8 vets (2 clinical directors), a practice director, 10 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 2 VCAs, and a support team of 6. The practice is an SVN training centre with development support and certificate funding.
