Supported Housing Concierge – Mental Health
Location: Toward Road, Sunderland
Job Type: Full Time (37.5 hpw), working on a 4 on 4 off rota pattern, waking nights only
Pay: £24,638pa plus benefits including Health Cash Plan
About the role
Calling all night owls! We’re looking for a dedicated night worker with alert skills and energy to support vulnerable customers experiencing mental health issues and homelessness. Your role will be to ensure safety, security, and a welcoming environment in our housing facilities.
Typical responsibilities
* Manage the health and safety of the building, including patrolling, checking fire doors, and ensuring security.
* Respond promptly to situations such as suspicious activity or emergencies, raising alarms and engaging emergency services if needed.
* Support our customers directly, being the first line of assistance when other teams or support networks are unavailable.
* Maintain cleanliness and order in the premises, including tasks like sweeping or mopping as required.
Candidate profile
* Calm under pressure with strong communication skills.
* Experience supporting vulnerable populations, possibly from public service or military backgrounds.
* People-oriented with keen observation skills to notice behavioral changes.
* Confident in intervening sensitively and working both independently and as part of a team.
Additional information
Due to sponsorship limitations, we cannot currently offer sponsorship to external candidates. You will be based in Sunderland city centre, working nights from 21:00 to 07:30, on a 4-night on, 4-day off rota. Regular daytime training and meetings are scheduled. You will need an Enhanced DBS check, which we will cover.
