We are supporting a client in Bicester with the recruitment of a Finance Manager — a senior role responsible for leading the day‑to‑day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and high‑quality financial insight for senior leadership.
This position oversees core financial operations, statutorypliance, team leadership and business partnering. The Finance Manager will play a key role in shaping financial processes, improving efficiency and supporting strategic decision‑making across the organisation.
Role OverviewThe Finance Manager will lead the finance team, oversee monthly and annual reporting cycles, maintain robust internal controls and ensurepliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. The role also provides financial analysis andmentary to senior leadership, supports budgeting and forecasting, and drives continuous improvement across the finance function.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with direct responsibility for an Assistant Management Accountant and close collaboration with the Divisional Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting &pliance
1. Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
2. Ensurepliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements including VAT, P11D and PAYE
3. Submit monthly payroll and ensure accuracy of related records
4. Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors and regulators
5. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies and financial processes
FP&A & Business Support
6. Support the Divisional Finance Director with budgeting and forecasting
7. Monitor cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance
8. Provide insightful analysis andmentary to senior leadership
9. Present and explain accounts to the board, including variance analysis
Team Leadership & Development
10. Lead, coach and develop the finance team, ensuring strong performance and succession planning
11. Drive a performance‑focused culture aligned with business needs
12. Manage recruitment, training and development within the team
13. Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed consistently
Process Improvement &ernance
14. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy across finance
15. Drive process improvements and automation where appropriate
16. Maintain high standards of financialernance and data integrity
17. Act as an ambassador for the organisation internally and externally
Key Skills & Qualifications
18. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
19. Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance leadership role
20. Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
21. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
22. Advanced Excel and strong financial systems capability
23. Strong leadership, coaching and team‑management experience
24. High attention to detail and accuracy
25. Excellentmunication and stakeholder‑management skills
