The successful applicant will join our award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy as part of our experienced geo-environmental and geotechnical team. You will contribute to the delivery of a wide variety of ground engineering and environmental projects.

The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking a range of geotechnical and environmental services, including:
Designing, procuring and managing (incl. contract administration) of ground investigations and slope/cliff stability assessments.
Logging to BS5930; sampling of soils, rocks and groundwater; and monitoring of ground gas and groundwater.
Development of geotechnical ground models / contaminated land conceptual site models and risk assessments.
Preparing high-quality technical reports in accordance with relevant guidance.
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with current H&S / CDM regulations and environmental permitting requirements.
Supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration with our civil engineering, ground engineering and structural teams on integrated schemes.
Requirements:
Educated to degree level in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
Working towards or have achieved Chartership through a relevant institution (not essential where the candidate exhibits sufficient experience).
Have previous experience in undertaking desk studies (including identifying significant ground risks); organising and supervising ground investigations (including trial pitting, borehole logging and in-situ testing); developing ground models, undertaking ground interpretation and technical reporting.
Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and environmental legislation.
Be capable of working individually or as part of a wider team.
Be conscientious with high standards, attention to detail and good written and oral communication. ·
Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
Have a full valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Salary:
Graduate: £25,000 - £30,000
Engineer: £32,000 - £40,000
Hours: Full-time hours/week - Monday to Friday (part time also considered)
Contract: Permanent with an initial six-month probation period.
