THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING AWS OFFICE LOCATIONS: LONDON, FRANKFURT, MADRID OR DUBLIN.
The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is seeking a results‑oriented individual to join as Grid Delivery Manager. The candidate will be responsible for delivering large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines, leading a cross‑functional team including design engineering, construction, planning, environmental, and real estate, managing stakeholder communication, reporting key risks and issues to senior management, and standardizing processes, developing tools, and supporting financial budgeting.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Deliver large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
* Manage cross‑functional teams (design engineering, construction, planning, environmental, real estate) to ensure delivery to tight timelines.
* Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues to senior management, directors, and VPs.
* Drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery execution, and support financial budgeting.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus.
* 5+ years of experience delivering HV/MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization.
* Experience building power substations working with utilities and understanding their environment and culture.
* Experience analyzing cost/benefit trade‑offs across a strategic portfolio.
* Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
* Experience managing international teams and a demonstrated understanding of transacting business in multiple cultural contexts (plus).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure.
* Master’s degree (MBA/MS) and/or PMP certification preferred.
* Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
* Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
* Ability to communicate in additional languages.
