At Paignton Academy, we are looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our growing team of professionals supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will play a vital role in the classroom, working closely with teaching staff and our Learning Support Coordinator to provide targeted support and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting individual or small groups of pupils with SEND to access the curriculum and reach their potential
* Assisting the class teacher in managing the classroom environment and student behaviour
* Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
* Helping students develop their confidence, independence, and social skills
* Monitoring progress and providing feedback to staff and parents/carers
What we’re looking for:
* Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting (school experience is essential)
* A compassionate, patient, and approachable manner
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A genuine passion for supporting learning and inclusion
* Knowledge of SEND strategies and/or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
