Overview
The following are the core responsibilities of the Prescription Clerk. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Responsibilities
* Process repeat prescription requests received by the online access system and by post, in accordance with practice protocol
* Produce prescriptions for the GP to sign in an acceptable timeframe
* Ensure all prescription requests are processed and are ready for collection within a 48-hour timeframe
* Generate requests for medication on behalf of the patient for non-repeat items
* Actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to facilitate monthly collections
* Discuss with patients their requirements, encouraging patients to order only what they require
* Act upon compliance issues, liaising with the appropriate clinician
* Ensure medication reviews are arranged by maintaining an accurate recall system
* Always maintain accurate records, including appropriate coding entries
* Deal with all prescription related enquiries in a timely manner
* Record and report adverse effects accurately and appropriately, informing the practice manager immediately
* Data input onto the clinical IT system
* Carry out system searches as requested
* Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Secondary key responsibilities
In addition to the primary key responsibilities, the Prescription Clerk may be requested to:
* Support the Clinical Pharmacist as required
* Partake in audit as directed
Qualification
* NVQ2 Level 2 Pharmacy Technician
Working days
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.21-£12.48 per hour
Expected hours: 22 per week
