We have an exciting opportunity for a Sessional Animal Care Technician to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Brooksby College.
Working in this role you will maintain a high standard of animal husbandry and contribute to the curriculum needs of the Animal Care department. You will work alongside a team of dedicated staff and interact with students on a practical basis, requiring broad animal experience across a variety of species. The position supports the growth and development of the College’s practical Animal Care facilities and offers the chance to work with an organisation committed to ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities
* Routine care and management of college animal care livestock
* Maintain a clean and efficient working environment in the Animal Care Unit
* Liaise with appropriate vocational areas to plan supervision and assessment of students
* Carry out health and safety and risk assessments in accordance with college procedures and practices
What we are looking for
* Level 3 qualification in Animal Care or equivalent
* Recent experience of working in the animal care industry
* Able to assist in the development of safe systems for practical activities
* Experience of caring for a range of animals
