About GayGlos
GayGlos is a voluntary organisation and registered charity in Gloucestershire, providing support services to LGBTQ+ people, their families, friends, and other organisations. Established in 1989, we have a long history of delivering support, strategic engagement, and training & education programmes. Our Youth Group, launched in 2012, has supported two generations of LGBTQ+ young people, and we are now looking to further develop our services with a focus on youth, training, education, and strategic work.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced LGBTQ+ Youth Development Worker to join our team. This part‑time role will focus on working with LGBTQ+ young people and volunteers in Gloucestershire. You will empower volunteers and members, improve engagement within the LGBTQ+ community, build partnerships with allied organisations, and work with Trustees to develop and manage our services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and strengthen support services and activities for LGBTQ+ young people.
* Collaborate with colleagues to identify sector priorities and delivery plans.
* Recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the Youth Group.
* Line manage and supervise Youth Group Facilitators.
* Lead and coordinate community engagement activities.
* Stay up to date with policy and practice around supporting LGBTQ+ young people.
* Build and maintain a social media presence for GayGlos.
* Respond to correspondence from young members, volunteers, and the community.
* Use data to identify key areas of focus and track progress.
* Plan and deliver high‑quality projects and events, including workshops and focus groups.
* Attend occasional meetings on weekends and outside regular hours.
Person Specification

* Ability to travel within Gloucestershire (driver’s licence beneficial but not required).
