We are excited to share an opportunity for you to join the Facilities Management team at Canterbury City Council as a Project Manager for our retrofit project in social housing
We are embarking on an exciting project to retrofit our social housing properties to reduce fuel poverty and improve the standard of our properties for our tenants
In this role, you will work alongside the wider FM team to deliver projects to tenants undergoing retrofit works to their homes, adhering to PAS 2035 standards.
You’ll lead the project from start to finish through the whole retrofit journey and will be part of a team making a real difference to our tenants and their homes.

About this Project Manager job:
* This role will be leading the project to retrofit c.800 social housing homes in the Canterbury district
Here’s what you’ll get up to:
* You’ll be responsible for the delivery of this project for its entire lifecycle which includes developing a tenancy engagement strategy, contractor working methods, governance, evaluation strategies and phase planning
* You’ll be ensuring compliance with the grant funding agreement from the Department of Energy Security, Net Zero (DeSNeZ)
* You’ll be working with multi-disciplinary teams and contractors
* You’ll be preparing budgets, forecasts, and programme schedules
* You’ll be managing tenant liaison to ensure maximum buy-in from tenants and provide support and information
Working pattern:
* Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays
* This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week

About you, the ideal Project Manager for the job:
Your knowledge
* Excellent working knowledge and understanding of programme management, performance management, financial management, planning and project management;
* Understanding the technical elements of works delivered under the Warm Homes Fund, ideally via experience and formal trades or academic qualifications such as Building Surveying
* Strong working knowledge of energy efficiency-based funding, such as ECO, Green Homes Grant and Warm Homes Fund
* A working knowledge of building maintenance and contracting relationships
* Understanding/ knowledge of retrofitting standards e.g. PAS2035
Your experience
* A high degree of flexibility with good experience of managing change in ambiguous, fast-moving environments across multiple business areas;
* Good experience of working across multidisciplinary teams in the development of major housing, affordable warmth or energy efficiency, health and wellbeing initiatives;
* Excellent ability and experience in the delivery of similar project initiatives;
* Strong project management and planning skills, with good experience of leading small to medium-scale projects across a range of service areas;
Your skills
* Excellent communication skills, facilitating communication between teams.
* Administering contracts for project delivery;
* Assessing and managing technical and procedural risk.
* Good level of competency in IT – MS 365 and other service-based software
Your qualifications
* PAS2035 Retrofit Coordinator qualification*
* HNC/HND or Degree in a relevant subject or substantial relevant experience;
* Evidence of continuous professional development;
* Full driving licence.
*PAS2035 Retrofit Coordinator qualification is a requirement of the role. Applications are welcome from applicants with relevant qualifications or experience who are willing to undertake required PAS2035 retrofit coordinator training on taking up the role.
