Functional area: Legal / Compliance
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and capable Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel (depending on experience) to support RWE’s offshore wind business during a 12-month maternity cover.
As part of the global Construction & Procurement Law team, you will collaborate with other legal team members and departments to provide legal support for RWE’s international offshore wind projects.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting procurement, construction, and operation activities of RWE’s offshore wind projects
* Drafting and negotiating contracts such as turbine supply, foundation, EPC, purchase, service, and maritime logistics contracts
* Acting as the primary legal contact for projects, coordinating internal and external legal advice
* Monitoring legal matters, advising senior management on risks, claims, and disputes
* Leading process standardization within the team
* Developing tailored legal solutions for complex issues
* Building effective cross-functional relationships within RWE
Qualifications and experience:
* Qualified UK solicitor
* Experience in private practice or in-house legal roles, preferably in energy or infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of international construction, maritime, and procurement law (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, etc.)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
* Understanding of large infrastructure projects from a legal perspective
* Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
* Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
Preferred but not required:
* Renewables or offshore wind experience
* Experience with high-profile projects and transactions
* Interest in contributing to green energy transition
* Flexible working arrangements and open communication environment
This role can be based in Swindon, London, or Coventry. Flexible working is supported with a minimum of two days in the office per week.
