Site Engineer - Civil Engineering (Scotland) Location: Corran, Scotland (initial project), with future Scotland/UK coverage Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £30,000 - £55,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) Sector: Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Marine Works Our client is a well-established contractor with a strong UK presence and an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging civil engineering projects safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. They have successfully delivered several major schemes across Scotland, including: £10m cable landing facility in Cockenzie £10m airport resurfacing and ground lighting works £24m wastewater treatment facility and marine outfall With recent project awards in the region, they are now establishing a dedicated Scotland-based delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to grow their technical expertise and play a key role in site delivery across the full project lifecycle. You will support daily site operations, ensure works are delivered in line with specifications and contribute to safe, high-quality project execution. The role will commence on an exciting new project at Corran Ferry Port. Key Responsibilities Site Operations & Engineering Support Oversee daily site operations and ensure works align with plans, drawings and specifications Set out works and verify levels, alignment and measurements Work collaboratively with subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams Identify risks to project delivery and resolve or escalate issues promptly Conduct progress reviews and provide updates to the Site Manager/Project Manager Quality & Compliance Inspect materials and completed works to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards Ensure relevant permits and approvals are in place prior to site activities commencing Report and address non-compliance or quality issues, escalating where necessary Health, Safety & Sustainability Promote safety as a core value across all site activities Identify and report hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken Support HSEQ and Sustainability teams to meet project objectives and compliance requirements Essential Requirements Third level qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management or a related discipline Minimum 2 years' experience in a civil engineering role Full driving licence valid for the UK/Ireland Flexibility to travel and work across different sites in the UK and Ireland Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Awareness of key issues impacting civil engineering project delivery Good understanding of health and safety regulations and best practice Experience supervising subcontractors and supporting site teams Desirable CSR, CSCS or Safe Pass card/certification Working knowledge of AutoCAD Salary & Benefits In return, our client offers a highly competitive package designed to support both professional growth and work/life balance, including: Competitive salary with biannual performance-related bonus Generous annual leave with option to purchase additional days Car allowance Private medical insurance Employer pension contribution via salary sacrifice Life assurance (4x annual salary) Health cash plan covering dental, optical and wellbeing services Paid professional membership fees Cycle to Work scheme and gym membership subsidy Enhanced maternity, paternity and sickness pay Annual paid volunteering day Accommodation & Subsistence Support This role is initially based in Corran, near Fort William, which is a remote location.
