The Technical Production Supervisor is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting optical networking products in a production environment. This role includes supervisory responsibilities for the production operations team, ensuring all components and finished goods meet quality and performance standards through optical test equipment and standardized procedures. The supervisor oversees transceiver programming, testing, and shipping operations, setting priorities and aligning resources for order fulfillment, while ensuring test equipment and procedures are available for the team.
Ideal candidates will have experience with fiber optics, precision testing tools, and a strong attention to detail. The role reports to the SVP of Operations & PLM and is based in Swindon, UK.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Defining technical specifications and test procedures for the production team.
2. Setting up switch and router configurations for production testing based on use cases.
3. Creating and updating transceiver and optical network device templates and configurations, testing and validating compatibility with networking equipment.
4. Assisting with optical network equipment troubleshooting, integration, and root cause analysis.
5. Supporting the Solution Engineering team with test scenarios and reports.
Qualifications and experience:
* Basic understanding of optical network technologies and familiarity with networking hardware configuration/testing is a plus.
* Strong leadership skills with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
* Technical certifications or vocational training in electronics or fiber optics are beneficial.
* Prior experience or a degree in a relevant field is desirable.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume production environment.
