Overview
The Senior Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position involves working closely with both residents and their families to ensure that individual care plans are followed and that the highest standards of care are maintained. The Senior Care Assistant will also take on leadership responsibilities, supervising junior staff and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and team members.
Duties
* Assist in the development and implementation of personalised care plans for residents, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
* Provide direct support to residents with daily activities, including personal care, mobility assistance, and medication management.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff members, promoting best practices in senior care.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
* Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in their condition.
* Drive initiatives to enhance the quality of life for residents within the care home.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for all.
Skills
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
* Leadership skills with experience in supervising staff within a senior care environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care documentation and reporting.
