Description of the assignment
Senior Structural Engineers form the core of the engineering department, responsible for managing the day-to-day development of designs throughout the project lifecycle.
This role is primarily hands-on, involving analysis and design within the Civil & Structural department, and includes collaboration with other engineering disciplines within the project team.
The Senior Structural Engineer also shares managerial responsibilities concerning Graduates, Apprentices, and Designers as needed.
Applicants must demonstrate capabilities beyond those of a Design Engineer to be considered for this position.

Key Accountabilities
1. Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process
2. Development of designs to meet technical specifications
3. Preparation of supporting design calculations
4. Participation in design reviews
5. Preparation of technical specifications
6. Preparation of risk assessments, technical files, and other safety-related documentation
Profile
Occupational Skills and Knowledge
* A recognised Engineering qualification such as HNC / HND / Degree
Duties and Requirements
Essential
* Knowledge of structural fundamentals using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
* Experience in designing Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
* Understanding of structural steel connections and types
* Proven competence in a design delivery role
* Ability to meet tight deadlines
* Strong team player
Desirable
* Nuclear or highly regulated industry experience
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
* Supervisory experience
