You will work 10 hours a week (from 8am to 6pm to cover weekend shifts) at Cygnet Newham House, creating an excellent experience for our residents.
Cygnet Newham House is a 20-bed neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility that provides rehabilitation for women affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI).
The hospital offers a safe and secure environment to support recovery and helps manage the progression of neurological diseases such as Huntington's Disease.
It is a modern, purpose-built facility designed to deliver a clinically-led, evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals with challenging behaviours due to ABI.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious, balanced, and appetising meals
2. Providing for special diets, considering individual preferences and needs
3. Collaborating with nursing staff to meet residents' nutritional and dietary requirements
4. Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, service areas, and dining rooms
5. Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
6. Handling, maintaining, and storing kitchen equipment per Cygnet procedures
7. Using chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations

Candidate requirements:
1. A skilled Chef capable of working under pressure
2. Preferably experienced in the care sector
3. Ability to plan nourishing and attractive menus within budget
4. Holding a food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene standards
5. Polite, professional, and positive attitude towards all interactions
6. Excellent communication skills for liaising with all levels
7. Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under supervision
8. Qualified in catering to City & Guilds 706: 1 & 2 level or NVQ Level 2/3
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
