Senior Project Manager - Belfast based (2 days on site per week)
Job Description:
Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary change programmes across Digital, IT, and Data domains.
Job Responsibilities
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of large-scale change initiatives across multiple interdependent projects.
* Coordinate cross-functional project teams ensuring alignment with business objectives and benefits realisation.
* Manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across the programme to ensure seamless execution.
* Provide strategic leadership to project managers and ensure their initiatives align with the overarching programme goals.
* Maintain strong communication with stakeholders at executive level and ensure effective engagement.
* Ensure detailed planning, monitoring, and control using recognised programme delivery methodologies.
* Oversee budget allocation, procurement processes, and third-party negotiations.
* Guide teams in developing robust business cases and gaining necessary approvals.
* Lead the implementation of change capabilities to support organisational transformation.
* Apply problem-solving techniques to preempt and resolve delivery challenges.
Experience Required
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in delivering complex change programmes within large organisations.
* Proven track record managing multiple project managers and delivering cross-functional programmes.
* Strong background in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and programme governance.
* Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing at executive level.
* Expertise in budgeting, business case development, and procurement processes.
Desirable Skills
* Background in technical project delivery or enterprise-level systems.
* Experience in the utilities sector is advantageous.
* Familiarity with tools and techniques for programme control and reporting.
Educational Requirements
* A recognised third-level qualification in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
* Professional certification in programme/project management (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, PMP) is preferred.
