All About The Role
We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student, who's studying at either undergraduate or postgraduate level towards a degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Building Services or similar to join Hollis for a summer placement. The successful candidate will join Hollis in summer 2026 and be based in our London office.
Introducing an amazing opportunity for a Summer Placement in our Energy Solutions team. Our Energy Solutions team helps drive the UK's transition to clean energy by delivering consultancy services for solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging—from feasibility through to installation, project management, and ongoing maintenance. We use advanced 3D modelling, undertake technical due diligence, and work closely with wider Hollis specialists to design and deliver high performance renewable systems. We empower commercial landlords and occupiers to unlock energy savings, reduce carbon emissions, and prepare for tightening regulation such as MEES and the UK's 2030 targets. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the ongoing success and evolution of Hollis.
Your Day To Day
Assisting with solar PV feasibility assessments, using specialist solar 3D modelling software to analyse rooftop potential.
Supporting assessments on energy yield, carbon savings, and financial payback modelling.
Contributing to technical due diligence for acquisitions and disposals involving renewable assets.
Participating in project management workflows, including resourcing, technical reviews, and client reporting.
Gaining valuable on-site exposure to related services such as drones, ESG strategy, and O&M management.
Support the Energy Solutions team through service and sector research projects.
Develop understanding of the market through various stakeholders including clients, contractors and suppliers.
All About You
You're studying towards a degree at undergraduate or postgraduate level in Engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Building Services or similar.
You have a keen interest in renewable energy technologies and the built environment.
You're analytical, proactive and comfortable working with data.
You're a strong communicator with good attention to detail.
You're professional, self-motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, able to prioritise and multi-task with a can-do attitude.
You're highly organised with the ability to balance tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
You're flexible and able work under pressure.
You're a collaborative team player with a willingness to learn.
