Independent Reviewing Officer needed for our Children's Safeguarding Service in Suffolk, paying between £42 - £45 ph!
* Location: Suffolk
* Rate: £42 – £45 per hour (Umbrella)
* Working Pattern : Minimum 2 days per week in the office
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Independent Reviewing Officer / Child Protection Conference Chair to join our safeguarding service in Suffolk. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the highest standards of care, protection, and outcomes for children in care and those subject to child protection plans across the county.
You will play a key role in driving quality assurance, improving practice, and embedding the Signs of Safety and Wellbeing framework, which is already making a positive impact on engagement, staff morale, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee the effective delivery of safeguarding services for children in care and those subject to child protection plans
* Chair Child Protection Conferences and statutory reviews, ensuring compliance and high-quality decision-making
* Provide robust scrutiny and oversight of care plans and child protection plans
* Embed and promote the Suffolk Signs of Safety and Wellbeing practice framework
* Offer strategic leadership and work closely with operational management teams
* Produce reports and provide analysis to directorate management on safeguarding performance and issues
* Ensure compliance with statutory standards, regulations, and operational requirements
* Undertake Regulation 44 visits to Suffolk County Council children’s homes, including monthly reporting on safeguarding effectiveness and standards of care
