About the Role
Asset Planning Sponsor in the Wastewater area of the Asset Management department at Yorkshire Water.
Key Responsibilities
* Specific accountabilities within end‑to‑end process.
* Ensuring the Business Need and Solution in the Enterprise Decision Analytics (EDA) system are correctly and fully created.
* Owning the Concept and Definition phases to ensure the risk and solution are fully understood.
* Preparing the Pre‑Construction Information (PCI) at the earliest opportunity to ensure compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations.
* Ensuring the Scope as defined at the end of the Definition phase meets the Business Need and is delivered through the Project lifecycle (time, resources, benefit realisation).
* Ensuring sign off and funding approval at Gate 1 (concept) and Gate 3 (pre‑delivery) of the AMP process.
* Providing any required support to Gate 2 (definition) and Gate 4 (financial approvals).
* Agreeing escalation triggers with the Project Team.
* Identifying and confirming training requirements.
* Supporting the Project Manager during all project phases.
* Agreeing scope of Investigation with Project Team to provide the right information to confirm solution requirements at Gate 3.
* Responding to escalations when requested by the Project Team.
* Understanding the project risk profile and the mitigation plans.
* Managing changes to time, cost, and quality.
* Providing technical support for high‑profile, complex wastewater treatment issues.
* Confirming remedial works, maintenance plans and task activities are being undertaken post‑scheme.
* Participating in the Project Review Process.
Qualifications and Skills
* Engineering and/or Science/process knowledge and experience of relevant asset base and its operation.
* Detailed understanding of Performance Commitments.
* Strong influencing, communication and negotiation skills.
* Proven experience in asset management or within a capital investment setting.
* Understanding of site process safety – representation in Hazard Study Process.
* Ability to understand root cause analysis.
* Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points).

Work Hours and Location
Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible hybrid arrangement with occasional site visits across the Yorkshire region. Base location determined by home location.
