St. Matthew’s C. of E. Primary School wishes to appoint a School Business Manager with effect from 1 September 2026.

Salary: Scale point 35 – 40 £49,053 - £54,267 FTE
Pro rata £24,841 - £27,481
Hours: 20 hours per week, term-time plus 2 weeks
(suggested hours 9.30- 1.30 daily)

Due to the retirement of the current postholder, we are seeking to appoint a School Business Manager, with a passion for excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement and raising standards for all in a successful setting. The post is 20 hours a week- term time plus 2 weeks in school holidays (1 week at the start of the Easter Holidays to coincide with financial year end and the other week to be negotiated)
We are looking for an outstanding and committed individual who will join our highly skilled team as our School Business Manager. St. Matthew’s C. of E. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial strategy of the business functions of our school including IT, personnel and pay administration, premises/health and safety ensuring compliance. S/he will be required to ensure expenditure of the school budget is managed with due regard to cost effectiveness and value for money.
They will need to have excellent computer skills, particularly Excel, and an understanding of accounting, although training on the school's SIMS/ACCESS systems will be given.
This is a 'hands on' post with understanding required of the needs of young children, their families and those who work with them. The successful candidate should expect to be involved in the life of our school.
