As a Claims Desktop Motor Engineer, you will assess prospects of repair versus total loss using engineering tools in accordance with guidelines and procedures, considering commercial decision-making. You will also mitigate ancillary claim spend on hire, storage, and recovery charges.
You will provide accurate assessments of repair costs by authorising repairs and supervising the prompt payment of accounts within established guidelines and procedures.
What you will be doing:
* Obtain high-quality, value-for-money repairs that do not compromise vehicle safety
* Produce reports and estimates promptly and accurately, and authorise repairs, including vehicle valuation
* Correctly categorise and dispose of salvage in line with ABI guidelines
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with claims handlers, repairers, and intermediaries to ensure the best outcomes for the business and customers
* Monitor repair work and repairer activities to ensure repair costs stay within the motor engineers' territory minimum number of substandard repair referrals
What we're looking for:
* Thorough knowledge of motor vehicle accident repair methods
* Experience in estimating and negotiation
* VDA ATA AQP Accreditation
* Thorough knowledge of Computerised Estimation Systems (Audatex and Glassmatix)
* Thorough knowledge of Thatcham Escribe
