An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the therapy team at Tudor Court as a therapy assistant. Therapy is provided to any resident in Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton who requires a period of rehabilitation.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
Responsibilities
* To provide assessments and interventions, for delegated caseload of patients; with support and supervision of a qualified therapist.
* To undertake administrative and stock control duties as requested to support the therapy services.
* Attend and effectively contribute to regular meetings, including:
o Monthly speciality team meetings
o Monthly staff meetings
o Peer support meetings
o Ward handover meetings
o Champions update meeting
* Promote a positive and efficient image of the service within own and wider team.
* Provide effective advice, information and support for patients and carers.
* Ensure staff, patients and carers are aware of the role of therapy within own speciality area.
* Overcome barriers to communication by altering style and format.
* Involve patients in decision making with regards assessments and always gain informed consent.
* Have a sound knowledge of specialist standardised and non-standardised assessments used within the service.
* Undertake simple assessments as delegated by qualified therapist.
* Demonstrate a good knowledge of medical conditions in own speciality area and how they affect day to day function.
* Ensures joint treatment planning considers individual patient choice/wishes/beliefs.
* Ensures assessments undertaken are holistic and meet standards.
* Provide effective feedback of assessment findings to patient and carer.
* Provide effective feedback of assessment findings to qualified therapists and wider MDT team.
