Role: Information Assurance Team Manager REF 373362 Contract Length: Until 31/07/2026 Location: Wellingborough IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: £33.80 per hour Spinwell is recruiting for an Information Assurance Team Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INFORMATION ASSURANCE TEAM MANAGER Alongside the statutory Data Protection officer, advise the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer regarding their obligations, as Data Controller, on compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and associated data protection and information security legislation. Influence and provide advice to all levels of the organisations in relation to operational matters, policy, practice, and procedures to ensure policing, fire and organisational activity is compliant with data protection, information security and associated legislation. Provide change management to support changes in policy, practice, process and structure within the Information Assurance function, delivering change outlined through recommendations from various ongoing reviews. Support the Head of Information Assurance to ensure that the assurance function fulfil their role and tasks, including: information access compliance audit and disclosure And the specialist areas of: Information security freedom of information subject access request records management Information sharing agreements Management of Police Information (MoPI). Overhaul a programme of awareness and training, developing appropriate policies and guidance, in order to influence, embed and integrate data protection, data privacy and data security within the cultures of the organisations. Embed new ways of working to ensure the function can operate at its most efficient and effective. Develop and embed a revised performance framework the function. To deputise for the Head of Information Assurance and Data Protection Officer as required. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE INFORMATION ASSURANCE TEAM MANAGER At least 5 years experience in Data Protection and information assurance, with experience of requirements specific to the public sector. Excellent ability to develop processes, policies and performance frameworks relevant to the function Significant ability to drive through change as required to modernise a function. Evidence of continuous professional development that aligns to the needs of a modern data protection function.
