An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our enthusiastic team at Hazelbury Bryan Primary School. We are a small, rural school surrounded by fields, set in the middle of idyllic Dorset countryside, who pride ourselves in providing the very best wellbeing and nurturing start for our children. We strongly believe that when children feel valued, confident, happy and accepted, they will flourish in their learning and in their personality. We are a relational practice school who use emotion coaching and are trauma informed, providing the very best rounded education for the children in our school. We are dedicated to offering a range of additional experiences in addition to our school curriculum and consequently we have recently been awarded Primary School of the Year, for ‘Making a Difference’, as well as receiving the Gold standard award in becoming an ‘Outstandingly Happy School’ through the Art of Brilliance. Our children are kind and caring and have an eagerness to learn. Our team works together to ensure that we provide long lasting, happy memories for the children, whilst also ensuring that they have the skills, education and confidence to find their way in an ever changing World. We are looking for a dynamic, bubbly, positive, dedicated and hard working full-time teacher to join our team of exceptional staff and who has children’s mental health and wellbeing at the forefront of their ethos, helping children to achieve through creative, inspirational teaching all whilst promoting children’s self esteem and confidence. The successful candidate will: Be an exceptional, high quality class teacher with a drive to provide a stimulating environment and curriculum. Be curious and kind, helping children to learn not only in their education but in their behaviour and emotions. Work well as part of a team, learning from others and sharing good practice. Work within the school community, developing positive relationships with all staff, parents and governors. Be prepared to support the school through leading subjects. Have a positive attitude with a vision to make a difference to each individual. Have a drive to develop themselves professionally through continued professional development. Plan engaging lessons, taking into account the diverse needs of the children, assessing their progress and making adjustments to ensure all children make excellent progress. The successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the Governments safer recruitment guidelines. This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (2013 and 2020)) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’, so they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. The MOJ’s guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975, provides information about which convictions must be declared during job applications and related exceptions and further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide. Keeping Children Safe in Education Hazelbury Bryan Primary School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
