Are you a sales‑driven merchant professional ready to take the next step in your career? Looking for a leadership role where you can really make an impact?
We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Branch Manager to join our newly rebranded Horsham branch. This is a hands‑on, sales‑focused role with real responsibility — supporting the Branch Manager while helping drive branch performance, customer growth and operational excellence.
You’ll be a visible leader in the branch, building strong customer relationships, motivating the team, and driving sales.
What you’ll be doing
* Driving sales performance and developing new and existing customer accounts
* Supporting the Branch Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the branch
* Leading by example on customer service and sales standards
* Managing stock levels, deliveries, transport and branch operations
* Supporting with banking, cash reconciliation and branch administration
* Helping manage and develop branch colleagues
* Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times
What we’re looking for
* Experience working in a builders’ merchant (minimum 2 years)
* A strong sales background with a proven ability to grow accounts
* Confident leading, motivating and developing a team
* Commercial mindset with a focus on targets and performance
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Good knowledge of health & safety standards
* Eligible to work in the UK
Hours: 7am–4.30pm Monday to Friday, 8am–12pm alternate Saturdays.
Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays.
