We are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the Council’s Development Management Service.
Ideally, we’re looking for a qualified, experienced Development Management Officer; however, consideration will be given to applicants working within the built environment, with experience or qualifications in architecture, conservation, or the built heritage.

We expect you to be creative, innovative, and solution-oriented.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
* Assist in the preparation and delivery of a professional planning service by managing land use and development in the County sensitively;
* Process planning permission applications;
* Investigate breaches of planning control and legislation within the County and use appropriate enforcement interventions as necessary.
We are looking for an individual:
* With a degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning or a related discipline;
* With a good understanding of permitted development rights and experience handling various planning applications and enforcement cases;
* Able to communicate impartially and effectively with a wide range of people at various levels;
* Capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines;
* Committed to providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
The role requires a degree of fluency in Welsh. Please note that a successful applicant without the required Welsh language skills will be fully supported to reach the standard within two years of appointment.
