Job Description:
Due to continued growth within M&H Carriers, the position of Operations Manager - Pallets has arisen within our Aberdeen Altens depot. The successful candidate must be motivated, great customer service skills and have an excellent work ethic.
The Operations Manager is a key member of the depot leadership team, responsible for the strategic oversight and operational execution of the Pallet freight function. They ensure consistent delivery of service, performance, safety, and customer excellence across all shifts. This role plays a pivotal part in translating depot-level targets into shift-level execution, driving continuous improvement, and developing future talent within the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the pallet operation runs smoothly and efficiently, maintaining service levels and daily completion targets.
* Oversee route planning, vehicle utilisation, and resource allocation in collaboration with planning or transport teams.
* Monitor daily workload, proactively addressing delays, route issues, or customer-specific challenges.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide strategic direction and line management to employees ensuring clarity of objectives, consistency across shifts, and alignment with depot performance goals.
* Develop, implement, and monitor performance improvement plans to enhance service efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the pallet operation.
* Support the Depot Manager in setting operational strategy, capacity planning, and workforce optimisation.
* Take ownership of parcel KPIs and ensure proactive measures are in place to address underperformance or service disruption.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Advantageous:
CPC Holder and experience in pallets environment.
Hours
Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 18:00, with occasional Saturday required - 45 hours per week.
