An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk post on Ward 21 that will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward. A successful candidate will be privy to sensitive information related to patients' confidential data.
This role involves a variety of administrative tasks and is ideal for someone willing to learn new skills and able to work in a busy environment. The vacancy is for 22.30 hours per week, with working days from Tuesday to Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Check demographic details for accuracy on patient admission and discharge.
2. Arrange transport for patients attending other hospitals or departments.
3. Answer telephone calls, take messages, or transfer calls as appropriate.
4. Coordinate outpatient appointments with clinic staff prior to patient discharge.
5. Prepare discharged patients' paperwork for scanning.
6. Support nursing staff with general patient requests.
7. Liaise with Informatics regarding electronic equipment.
