Successful post holders will be responsible for theprovision of catering services within Hollies Restaurant and Café Quick and toensure that areas are safe and hygienic at all times. All staff would be partof a team and have the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritize andorganise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at alltimes regardless of the situation. Post holders will be also be expected to beflexible to the needs of the service.
The successful applicant will have :
Previous catering experience in a fast paced environment
Sound knowledge of food hygiene regulations
Demonstrate a can do attitude
Excellent communication and customer care skills
Level 2Certificate in Food Hygiene
Main duties of the job
Service Delivery
To work under the direction of the Retail ServicesSupervisor/Manager and assist in the preparation of nutritious and appetizingmeals and snacks for staff and visitors, according to planned menu usingspecified recipes, methods and systems for cook chill catering to the highest possible standards nutritional, temperature, quality, presentation, hygiene and safety andallergen regulations
To be involved in the preparation of all retail and buffetproducts, adhering strictly to standard recipes, methods and productionplanning adhered to.
Ensure high standards of food quality from point ofpurchase to meal preparation, cooking and service, ensuring quality controlprocess throughout.
To operate the electronic tills and the handling of cash
To work within the coffee shop outlet after full trainingwith the barista style machines
To assist in temperature monitoring and recording of allproduced meals/foodstuffs and food storage equipment in accordance withstandards as laid down in the Catering Departments Policies and Procedures andHazard Analysis Critical Control Points(HACCP)
Assist with receipt, quality assurance andstock control of goods

To support and assist the Retail Supervisor and RetailManager in the provision of a highly professional catering service within theretail units at Darlington Memorial Hospital and to ensure that high qualitystandards are met at all times
To follow the policies and procedures laid down by theretail services in the day to day operational management of retail and toensure a high quality and cost effective service
To ensure that food safety regulations are adhered to atall times.
Provide and maintain a highly customer focused restaurantfacility.
Ensure that communication channels are maintained betweenappropriate staff / visitor / patient groups with regard to patient feeding.
Work in a safe manner so that no other persons are put atrisk whilst completing the required duties.
Initially deal with any complaints / comments regarding theservice in a courteous manner from Trust staff or patients.
Developing staff preferences, promotingflexible working arrangements, and encourage change of working practicefollowing major life changing events.
