You will bring curiosity, judgement and confidence to support high-quality performance planning, reporting and assurance across the organisation.
In this role, you will play a key part in leading HEIW's corporate performance processes, supporting delivery of the Integrated Medium Term Plan and Education and Training Plan, and ensuring robust performance reporting to the Executive Team, Board and Welsh Government. Working closely with senior leaders, programme teams and colleagues across Planning, Performance, Finance and Data, you will help develop meaningful performance measures, insightful analysis and clear performance narratives that support effective decision-making.

The Assistant Planner – Performance is a senior member of the Planning and Performance Team, responsible for leading, coordinating and delivering HEIW's corporate performance planning, reporting and assurance processes.
The postholder will ensure that HEIW's performance management, accountability and reporting arrangements are delivered to the highest standard, including high-profile requirements such as:
Monitoring the delivery of the Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP) and Education and Training Plan (ETP) and recommending remedial actions where required
Integrated Quality, Performance & Delivery (IQPD) meetings
Joint Executive Team (JET) meetings with Welsh Government
Service Review meetings across all directorates
Welsh Government reporting requirements
HEIW Board and HEIW Executive Team performance cycles
Annual Performance Report
Requirements under the Well-being of Future Generations Act
The role will provide advanced analytical insight, interpretation of complex data, and strategic performance support for strategic planning support. The postholder will contribute directly to the design and deployment of HEIW's Performance Management Framework, the development of quantifiable high-impact performance measures, and to organisational capability-building in performance practice.
