Department overview The Aston Martin new Software & Electronic Technologies team is responsible for delivering all the software and electronics components across all AML product range, from innovation stage (proof of concept) up to maintenance. Job purpose The Vehicle Line Manager (SW&ET) is responsible for planning and managing the delivery of the hybrid car line and directly leading a vehicle project (e.g. Valhalla Spyder), for all the SW &ET contents, on time, on quality and on budget. Key duties and responsibilities Responsible for supporting the Team Leader in the definition of the technical and product development requirements and respective achievement. Responsible for vehicle level/cross functional engineering decisions Responsible for leading external engineering Team fostering analysis and facilitating decision making Accountable for reaching targets on direct costs, investments and supplier development costs, supported by the PL of Finance Responsible for tracking and managing overall components timing (SW & ET specific ones) Responsible for tracking and managing overall components sign off (SW & ET specific ones) Accountable for managing budget within the technical area of competence (SW & ET) Responsibility for product design to engineering standards and legislative requirements Experience and qualifications Essential experience High Experience in Project management in Automotive projects High experience in software/electronics projects, for Tier1/OEMs Experience in managing indirect teams towards delivery (e.g. 10 or more reports) Preferred experience Vehicle projects experience for small volume OEMs Essential education/ qualifications Educated to Degree level in an Engineering (Electronics, Software, Telecommunication) Required skills/ behaviours Strong communicator with experience working in international organizations Highly motivated, self-organized person, with a natural attitude to collaboration with peers.
