POSITION: Trainee Planning Enforcement Officer/Planning Enforcement Officer
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Planning Enforcement Team.
We have one full time post available at either Trainee Planning Enforcement Officer or Planning Enforcement Officer Level.
This position is permanent, 37 hours a week, based in Pembrokeshire.
TRAINEE PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
GRADE & SALARY: Grade 5 (£26,403 – £27,694)
QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for someone qualified to at least 3 A Levels or NVQ Level 3 in a related subject such Geography, Law, Construction or Protective/ Public Services and who already has a degree of customer related experience, dealing with the public in a front facing role or similar environment.
You will support the Planning Enforcement Officers in investigating potential breaches of planning control and assist with the full range of planning enforcement duties, in order to develop the necessary skills to progress to a Planning Enforcement Officer role. You will work closely with Planning Enforcement Officers and managers within the Planning team who will provide mentorship and support in the provision of development and training for the post.
PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
GRADE & SALARY: Grade 6 (£28,142 – £31,022)
QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for someone qualified to HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline i.e. Construction Management/ Surveying, or an equivalent period of extended experience working within a planning enforcement role or in a planning related discipline or similar environment would be advantageous.
The role involves undertaking a full range of planning enforcement duties under the supervision of Senior Officers, managing a case load of planning enforcement investigations and working closely with planning officers within the Development Management Area Teams and officers within other departments. You will work within a framework of established processes and procedures, following practice and precedent to put forward recommendations to resolve breaches of planning control.
