Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with severe and profound complex learning difficulties? A reputable special educational needs school in Lichfield is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team starting ASAP.
As a Learning Support Assistant in this special educational needs school environment, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 11-19 through their educational journey. Your responsibilities will include providing individualised assistance to students, both one-on-one and in small groups, catering to their unique learning needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide individualised assistance to students, both one-on-one and in small groups, catering to their unique learning needs.
* Support students academically and help them access the curriculum appropriate to their age group (11-19).
* Contribute to a positive and conducive learning environment and support effective behaviour management.
* Assist in de-escalating challenging situations with a calm and rational approach to maintain a safe, nurturing space for learners.
Qualifications
* Prior experience working with special educational needs or in a care setting.
* Compassionate, supportive approach with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form meaningful relationships with students who may have difficulty connecting with others.
* Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
