Band 7 Physiotherapist in Frailty

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Permanent post 23.5 hours

We are seeking to appoint a passionate, person centred and highly motivated clinician to jointly lead the physiotherapy service in our Frailty Unit within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The successful applicant will be joining a well-established, successful and friendly team, working alongside the other Band 7 Physiotherapist leading this team. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and flexible in their approach, and is able to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership in the assessment and management of patients with Frailty.

Using your clinical expertise the successful candidate will work collaboratively to provide safe and effective care. They will work with a diverse range of patients in the Frailty Unit. They will help facilitate early discharges, using a criteria for discharge approach. They will develop and maintain strong relationships with the MDT on the wards and other professional groups and services across NHS Grampian. They will play an integral role in assisting teams and colleagues to confidently apply the home first principles.

This post holder will identify opportunities for service improvement and work collaboratively to ensure the delivery and embedding of change. They must be able to work well under pressure and be able to challenge the multi-disciplinary team, in a constructive manner to ensure safe and appropriate patient care is offered at all times. They will be responsible for the line management and performance management of a team of staff.

This post holder will be part of a newly developing service which will be providing frailty services from 7am – 8pm, 7 days a week.

They will be a core part of our weekend frailty service at commencement of this post as NHS Grampian’s physiotherapy team is proactively working towards services over 7 days.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
