Large Shovel DriverShifts Available:Day Shift: Monday - Friday | 06:00 - 17:00Night Shift: Monday - Friday | 17:00 - 04:00Some weekend work may be required.Shift patterns will be discussed further at interview stage.Pay Rate: £14.00 per hourThe RoleOur client is seeking an experienced Large Shovel Driver to operate heavy plant machinery involved in the movement and loading of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) and waste materials. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.Key ResponsibilitiesShovel OperationsKeep SRF conveyors clear and free from contaminationLoad the correct SRF material into designated trailersMaintain separation of different SRF gradesInspect and clean trailers before and after loadingWaste HandlingFeed waste consistently into the shredderRemove oversized or damaging items prior to shreddingManage the tipping hall and assist with efficient vehicle unloadingIdentify and report unsuitable or poor-quality waste loadsMachine MaintenanceCarry out daily vehicle and machinery checksClean and inspect the shovel regularlyRefuel and grease machinery as requiredMonitor oil and AdBlue levelsClean filters and cab areas at the end of each shiftAdditional DutiesOperate other machinery where certified to do soSupport with general site duties when machinery is not in operationRequirementsPrevious experience operating large shovels or heavy plant machinery (essential)Valid plant operator certification such as CPCS or NPORS (preferred)Knowledge of SRF and waste handling operationsStrong understanding of health & safety proceduresReliable, hardworking, and physically fitGood communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamPlease note: If you have not heard from us within 7 working days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
