Job Title
Bank General Practitioner – Primary Care, HMP Hewell, Redditch, Worcestershire.
Hours
Sessions available Monday‑Friday 9am‑9.30pm. Saturdays 1pm‑5pm or 2pm‑6pm.
Salary
Bank role, £81.09 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of male patients aged 21+ in a category B remand prison.
* Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis and management, including first‑night prescribing, discharge prescribing, urgent follow‑up for duty doctor, general practice and substance misuse prescribing.
* Act as a specialist resource to the healthcare team and support clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
* Maintain professional standards, adhere to clinical guidelines, and undertake clinical audits.
* Provide medical leadership, expert advice, and promote multidisciplinary discussions around complex case management.
* Share knowledge through development sessions, governance meetings, and case reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
* MBChB or MBBS, with current GMC registration.
* Registered on the GP Performers List.
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal and continuing professional development.
* Experience working as a GP in community general practice.
* Ability to work with patients with substance misuse history; RCGP certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake.
