Job Description
PURPOSE OF JOB: To schedule, control, and procure bought-out items to meet customer and manufacturing order demand. To set up, analyze, and maintain material planning data on SAGE/Sicon. Microsoft proficient.
MAIN TASKS:
1. Manage, control, and take overall ownership of all material-related activities.
2. Use MRP to schedule, control, and highlight purchase requirements for bought-out items to meet internal/external customer and manufacturing order requirements.
3. Maintain internal Supplier Chase procedures with external suppliers to ensure material is acquired to meet production requirements.
4. Enforce, manage, and review all correspondence between Sales Order Progress and Manufacturing Order Scheduling departments to ensure continual flow of accurate delivery information to reps and customers.
5. Advise management of potential production shortages and problems.
6. Proactively expedite items and propose/implement alternative solutions when necessary to meet customer demand.
7. Work with internal staff and directly with suppliers to reduce costs and improve delivery and quality performance.
8. Continuously optimize bought-out raw material and purchased component stock levels to maximize product availability and minimize stock and costs.
9. Coordinate sub-assembly manufacture with Manufacturing Department.
10. Liaise with Sales and Manufacturing regarding component lead times and availability for current orders, new inquiries, and forecasts.
11. Manage slow-moving and obsolete stock in accordance with company policies.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
13. Ensure observance of company policies and standards.
