Currently we are recruiting a Management Accountant with Manufacturing experience to work between our Head Office in Newry and Cranwood Industries Timber Plant, Warrenpoint. Management Accountant (Manufacturing Experience) Newry and Warrenpoint We are recruiting an experienced Management Accountant, preferably with a manufacturing background, who can provide critical financial insights to drive profitability through focus on cost control, operational efficiencies, analysis of production costs through detailed variance analysis and management of inventory valuation. You will be responsible for multiple departments in the Murdock Group and have an opportunity to shape how finance supports this. The role will play a key part in delivering high-quality management information, cost analysis and insight to support decision making across the Timber division. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate monthly management accounts, analysing cost and margin performance, driving cost control initiatives, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and business planning. Key Responsibilities: Cost Accounting & Inventory: Own cost accounting, including raw materials, labour, and overheads. Lead month-end stock takes, reconciliations, and valuations. Variance Analysis: Analyze performance, investigating discrepancies between standard and actual costs to identify waste reduction and profitability opportunities. Financial Reporting & Control: Produce monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with financial controls and audit requirements. Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, providing insight for operational decisions. Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with sales and operations to enhance reporting and provide clear actionable financial data to non-finance managers. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment. Self-starter: thrives in a growing and changing environment Technical Skills: Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis Qualifications: Likely qualified or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Soft Skills: Analytical, with the ability to influence operational stakeholders and improve processes. Other: Hold a current full driving license which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car.
