My Client is recruiting for an Associate Director Electrical Engineering in the Water Sector
Location: Surrey, Peterborough or Cambridge - Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Associate Director Electrical Engineer to join our team within the Design & Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice. You'll be part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting edge, iconic projects to our Water market clients.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Director Electrical Engineer in the D&AT practice, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:
* Own and direct a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following relevant client and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels.
* Successfully manage time and budgets of the Electrical & ICA team to key project milestones and programmes.
* Responsible for directing and reviewing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
* Provide technical leadership into project design deliverables for Electrical aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
* Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within your immediate team and other related teams.
* Provide direction and guidance to Senior and Principal colleagues.
* Lead the growth of local Electrical & ICA team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network.
* Work independently with minimal technical guidance. Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriate and provide guidance to Senior and Principal team members.
* Provide technical support and direction for bid proposals.
* Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
* Setting quality assurance standards in design and ensure compliance from Electrical & ICA teams.
* Leading business development initiatives to drive growth of water market for the Company.
About you
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer.
* Proven experience in leading or directing an Electrical & ICA engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy including within a multi-disciplinary environment.
* Takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
* Requires comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in Electrical designs.
* Extensive knowledge of water company design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, such as WIMES.
* Strong awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices.
* Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
* Experience in water market is preferred but not required.
* Experience in industrial and process environment is essential.
* Demonstrates strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
* A proactive, highly motivated mindset with a collaborative approach to drive teamwork and shared success across projects.
