Join the team at Hairmyres Hospital as our new Head Chef.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Chef to lead our catering operations at Hairmyres Hospital. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire kitchen service, ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality, nutritious meals for both patients and staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for kitchen management, food safety compliance, menu development, and leading a dedicated catering team to meet the unique demands of a busy hospital environment.
The Role
1. Provide a correct meal service to patients and staff, including cooking and presentation.
2. Manage the ordering and control of all catering stock.
3. Develop varied and appealing menus using the central recipe bank.
4. Support management in implementing and maintaining the ISS food safety policy.
5. Build and maintain effective working relationships with the Client and ISS colleagues.
6. Assist management in providing direction, guidance, and support to all catering staff.
7. Support Catering Management in the day-to-day delivery of service objectives and targets.
8. Attend required departmental meetings.
9. Act professionally at all times.
10. Attend required training as directed by the Catering Manager.
About You
11. Demonstrable management experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
12. Fully Qualified (e.g., relevant culinary or catering certifications).
13. A passionate focus on food quality, preparation, and presentation.
14. Advanced understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
15. A brilliant communicator who can easily build effective working relationships.
16. A desire to succeed and continually improve in the role.
17. The ability to deliver a high-quality service, with an exceptional attention to detail.
18. A supportive and helpful individual who works well within a team.
19. Demonstrates exceptional timekeeping and reliability.
