CNC Machinist (Siemens)

The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with experience using Siemens 828D or 840D controls to join a well‑established precision engineering business on a permanent, day shift basis. This is a hands‑on position working within a high‑quality manufacturing environment, responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machinery to produce precision components in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Full machine setup including tooling and workholding
* First‑off inspection of machined components
* Editing and proving out programmes at the machine
* Working independently from engineering drawings
* Maintaining housekeeping and job booking standards
* Working in line with ISO9001 quality procedures
Minimum Requirements
* 3-5 years CNC Milling experience
* Experience with Siemens conversational and ISO programming
* Experience machining steels, cast iron and stainless steel
* Ability to use standard inspection equipment
* Experience working from engineering drawings
Desirable Experience
* 4 or 5‑axis milling experience
* Experience machining complex castings
* Experience creating or modifying CAM programmes (Fusion 360)
* Experience creating setup sheets and organizing tooling
