Procurement Officer 6 month FTC Southend Immediate start!!£40,000 - £45,000 We’re looking for a proactive Procurement professional to support the delivery of cost?effective, commercially robust supplier arrangements across our clients organisation. This role focuses on managing day?to?day procurement activity, optimising existing contracts, and driving value through effective negotiation and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively manage and review existing supplier contracts to identify opportunities for improved pricing, service levels, and terms.
* Support the development and delivery of procurement activity across various spend areas, ensuring compliance and value for money.
* Lead and coordinate smaller?scale tenders, RFQs, and supplier renegotiations to achieve cost savings and commercial improvements.
* Monitor supplier performance and escalate risks, issues, or opportunities for improvement.
* Carry out regular market research to benchmark pricing, identify alternative suppliers, and inform procurement decisions.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure procurement activity supports operational needs.
* Maintain accurate procurement documentation, contract records, and supplier information.
* Contribute to cost?reduction initiatives and wider commercial improvement projects as required.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in procurement, buying, or commercial support roles.
* Strong negotiation and supplier relationship?building skills.
* Confident reviewing contracts, identifying improvements, and supporting renegotiations.
* Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret pricing, supplier performance, and market information.
* A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
* Commercially minded, with an eye for cost optimisation and efficiency.
