About the role As a Healthcare Assistant you will be an integral part of our ward team, supporting registered nurses with the delivery of direct patient care. You will help patients with their everyday needs, assist with clinical observations, and ensure every individual feels safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity throughout their care. Your day-to-day duties will include Supporting registered nurses with direct, hands-on patient care across the ward Assisting patients with personal care including washing, dressing, oral hygiene, and continence care — always upholding dignity and respect Recording and reporting clinical observations including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation Supporting patients with mealtimes, assisting with eating and drinking, and monitoring nutritional and hydration intake Helping patients with safe mobility, transfers, and repositioning in line with individual care plans and manual handling guidelines Providing compassionate emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families Assisting with the preparation and upkeep of clinical areas, equipment, and supplies Maintaining accurate patient records and contributing to clear, thorough shift handovers Reporting any changes in a patient's condition promptly to the supervising registered nurse Adhering to infection prevention and control protocols, safeguarding standards, and organisational policies at all times About you A genuine commitment to patient care and a compassionate, person-centred approach No nursing qualifications required — full training and a structured induction will be provided Previous experience in a healthcare, care home, domiciliary, or support worker setting is desirable but not essential A BTEC Level 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or any accredited social care qualification will be an advantage Good communication skills — able to interact sensitively with patients, families, and clinical colleagues Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining high standards of care at all times Flexible — able to work day and night shifts including weekends in line with ward rota requirements Right to work in the UK What we offer £11.44 – £13.00 per hour in line with Band 2 pay scales Immediate start for the right candidate Competitive sick pay and pension scheme with employer contributions Generous annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays Enhanced DBS check fully funded by us Full induction, mandatory training, and ongoing CPD opportunities Day and night shifts — full-time and part-time hours considered Supported pathway to Nursing Associate and further clinical career development Access to staff benefits, discount schemes, and employee wellbeing support This is more than a job — it is the start of a rewarding clinical career.
