Role Overview: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work directly with students, presenting behavioural difficulties. You will play a crucial role in guiding them towards improved self-regulation, increased engagement, and academic success. Responsibilities as a Behaviour Mentor: Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support emotional well-being. Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement behaviour intervention plans. Promote a calm and structured environment, using de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies. Assist in developing pupils’ social and communication skills. Requirements for Behaviour Mentor: Prior experience working in a school or youth setting with behavioural needs. Knowledge of positive behaviour supports emotional literacy strategies. A calm, patient, and empathetic attitude. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
