Business Development Director – Intermediaries | London
Our client is a leading UK wealth and investment management firm with a long heritage of advising private clients, charities, trustees, and professional partners. The business combines deep investment expertise with a strong culture of responsibility, looking beyond short-term results to create lasting value for clients and society alike.
As part of its growth strategy, the firm is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to lead its intermediaries channel, building high-quality partnerships that generate new private client opportunities.
Role Overview
This is a senior, visible position for an accomplished business developer who thrives on creating long-term, trusted relationships. You will be responsible for engaging key national and London-based intermediaries - including legal and accountancy corporates, and other specialist advisers - ensuring the firm’s full proposition is delivered seamlessly to clients.
The role offers strategic scope and the autonomy to shape your approach, while working closely with senior colleagues to deliver joined-up solutions across the firm’s investment capabilities. With the backing of a respected brand and client-focused culture, you will have the platform to make a tangible impact on growth and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a strategy to drive new private client opportunities from national and key London-based intermediaries
* Build and manage strategic B2B relationships, establishing a monitored ‘panel approach’ for referrals
* Engage with a range of strategic partners to meet diverse HNW client needs
* Collaborate with internal financial planners, wealth planners, and investment managers to ensure a joined-up client experience
* Represent the full range of the firm’s investment and planning propositions, including responsible and sustainable solutions
* Design and deliver targeted business development initiatives and events
* Work with regional colleagues to ensure a consistent approach across the UK
* Identify and explore new routes to market, sharing best practice across teams
Key Requirements
* Proven track record in business development or relationship management within wealth management, asset management, or private banking
* A strong network among professional services intermediaries is absolutely essential
* Solid understanding of investment and financial planning solutions
* Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
* Strategic thinker with the ability to convert ideas into results
* Self-motivated, commercially astute, and collaborative
