Location: Sutton Coldfield, B74 (Little Aston, Staffordshire)
Wage/Salary: £17.80 gross per hour on weekdays, £19.80 gross per hour on weekends. On-call night rate: £13.50 gross per hour.
Driver required: Yes, own car to access client’s home and drive Jack to activities.
Vehicle on duty: Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.
Accommodation: Own bedroom and bathroom provided while on duty.
Start Date: ASAP.
Days & Hours: Minimum average of 20.77 hours per week, working 3 out of 4 weekends each month. Shifts run from Friday or Saturday afternoon through to Sunday evening or Monday morning. Rotas planned three months in advance. Additional hours available during school holidays, sickness, and annual leave.

Jack is 18 and a bright, intuitive young man with an infectious sense of humour. He thrives with people who build trust and communicate clearly. Following an Acquired Brain Injury, Jack has Cerebral Palsy, learning needs, a visual impairment, and epilepsy (well‑managed). He can find transitions challenging and benefits from structure, reassurance, and consistent behavioural support strategies. Jack has made excellent physical progress with his team’s support and regularly attends the gym. He loves music, singing, dancing, outdoor activities, swimming, and socialising with friends (some activities are 2:1).
Overview of Role
This is a hands‑on role supporting Jack in all aspects of daily life, including personal care, mobility, transfers, and gym work, while encouraging participation in activities and new experiences. A key aspect of the role is confidently managing behaviours that may challenge, using established strategies such as distraction, redirection, and positive reinforcement. The ability to remain calm, think on your feet, and use humour to diffuse situations and maintain engagement is essential. You will support Jack in social and recreational activities and build a strong, consistent relationship. During night shifts, Jack generally sleeps well and may occasionally need minimal support.
