Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Set prices based on formula pricing and/or factory costings, considering historical information and current policy.
* Ensure accuracy of lead-time quoted to customers in collaboration with manufacturing team.
* Negotiate with customers on issues related to price, lead-time, and special order requirements.
* Follow up with customers on open quotations and accurately report on lost quotations.
Order Processing
* Retrieve purchase orders, amendments, and planning schedules via customer portals.
* Review purchase orders, verify drawings revisions, price, quantity, quality requirements, and other relevant information.
* Search and retrieve existing part numbers from the MRP system and apply to orders/quotes.
Customer Service
* Manage workload to meet customer demand collaboratively with the team.
* Assist in forwarding engineering information and contract drawings to customers as needed.
* Update customer order status reports with the manufacturing team.
* Liaise with customers and internal groups regarding conflicts or questions about open orders and quotations.
Business Development
* Support development of Aftermarket Service Support opportunities through customer site visits and presentations in the UK and Europe (approx. 10% travel).
* Expand the Cook Compression aftermarket product portfolio by sourcing sub-vendors for non-core products.
Compliance
* Perform checks on customers using Visual Compliance software and KYC procedures to ensure compliance with UK, US, and EU trade restrictions.
General
* Draft written correspondence to customers as needed.
* Regularly inform management about business issues related to inquiries and orders.
* Present business conditions and customer issues in daily departmental meetings.
* Participate in project teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist with customer visits and staff training.
* Act as a deputy for colleagues when required.
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 3 years experience in customer contact or sales within engineering/manufacturing industries.
* Experience working on a manufacturing site is a strong asset.
* Effective communicator with strong customer service skills.
* Knowledge of reciprocating compressors, pumps, valves, turbines, etc., is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Export Control and Incoterms is a plus.
* Experience in sales presentations is beneficial.
* Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
* Willingness to travel to customer sites.
* Proficient in MS Office and MRP systems.
Qualifications:
* HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred; business degree with industrial experience considered.
Work Arrangement:
Onsite at our manufacturing facility in Ellesmere Port, UK.
