Victoria School caters for pupils aged from 2 – 19 years. All of our pupils have complex physical disabilities and/or health care needs, together with and a variety of learning difficulties and/or sensory impairments. You will play an integral role as part of the school’s secondary team. As an integral part of the school team, you will support the development and assessment system. You will need to have excellent written and oral skills and can communicate/liaise with students and class teachers on a regular basis with regards to promoting their achievements. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate: flexibility to work across the school’s departments the ability to work using your initiative, and as part of a team clear and effective communication with students and colleagues have initiative and the desire to take ownership of tasks you must be confident in supporting the learning of small groups of students working at functional skills English & Maths entry level 1 up to level 2 (GCSE equivalent) you must have a sound knowledge of supporting early readers with their phonics/ emergent reading strategies you must be willing to support class teams with the postural management of students with physical disabilities to promote postural and language and communication development a recognised level 3 teaching assistant qualification and GCSE Maths and English at level 4 or above or recognised equivalent qualifications How to apply To apply please download an application pack from our website or see here.
