Job Title: Trainee European Freight Forwarder & Admin Assistant
Location: Warboys, Cambridgeshire
Reports to: Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee European Freight Forwarder & Admin Assistant to join our growing logistics team. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop a career in freight forwarding and international logistics. You will support the coordination of shipments between the UK and Europe, assist with customs procedures, prepare key shipping documentation, and liaise with hauliers, customers, and agents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Arrange and coordinate road freight shipments between the UK and Europe.
* Assist with import and export customs clearance procedures
* Prepare and issue essential export documentation
* Organise and manage marine cargo insurance where required.
* Liaise effectively with customers, freight agents, hauliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth shipment operations.
* Maintain up-to-date and accurate shipment and customs records in internal systems.
* Support with administrative tasks and provide general assistance to the operations team.
* Stay informed on current freight and customs regulations affecting UK-Europe trade.
Requirements:
* Maths & English Grade 4 or above
* Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* A keen interest in Geography would be an advantage
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
* Willingness to learn and develop within the freight forwarding industry.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal abilities
* Prior experience in logistics or administrative roles is an advantage but not essential.
